Northern Star White 7 - 1 Hampton

Nobody said it would be easy! Hampton came up against a well organised and physical Northern Star White side at their impressive facility at the Focus Centre in Dogsthorpe. Before the defence had a chance to blink they were two goals down and Northern Star kept the pressure on all match..

Hampton adjusted eventually and stemmed the flow, keeping the score down to 4-0 at half-time and gave a better account of themselves in the second-half. Dylan capping a fine performance with a good goal. He worked his way from the right wing half-way all the way to the box where his shot found it's way into the net.

Next match is at home on the 14th October against Gunthorpe Harriers Navy. And I always thought Gunthorpe was landlocked. Change from the old routine - no pictures this week - a highlights video instead. Familiar music for the dads. Man of the match chooses the music from now on..

Hampton 1 - 0 Feeder

There you have it .. no pics this week as the rain would have out Mrs Mulkern's camera in peril. William scored in the second half from a very unlikely effort that probably deceived the keeper into thinking it wasn't really a shot until was almost in. Hampton had the best of it overall and should have had a few more against a side that lost 13-1 last week. Alex named man of the match.

Hampton 2 - 6 Wasps

So the new season begins and so does this blog which is kindly supported by the Mulkern family because it is their camera that they kindly let me use.

Well the Whites have changed their name to the Blues but began the season playing in white today. Everyone knows this season wouldn't be easy with bigger pitches, offside rules and better teams to contend with but the boys did well despite the scoreline which flattered their opponents. William opened the scoring in the first half before Thorney equalised and scored again quickly to make it 2-1 at the break.

William struck again in the second half to level the scores before Wasps showed the Blues (Formerly Whites, in white for the very first time rather than their normal blue) how its done and scored four more times before the final whistle.

Here  are the team warming up for their first match with the assistant coach.

William looking happy before kick off

Listen very carefully .. I shall say zis only once (a week)
Another new face - its Harris' flag waving Dad, Craig.

He knows the drill .. kick back .. relax ... and scream abuse at the referee
It's kick off time and Tom keeps a close watch on the air ball.
Dylan clears his lines

Offside rule applies now ... no more goal hanging for the lads .. shame
Will gives Thorney some early pressure
Thomas looks like a pro  ..
Reece takes the full blast from a clearance and struggles to stay on his feet
William gets his first chance and put this one wide
Gets his second chance and puts away Hampton's first goal of the season. Keeper maybe should have kept it out.
Game comes alive not and Wasps equalise through Jazleigh (classmate of the Vale contingent of the side)
Alex keeps it safe
Alex takes cover from a cannon blaster!

Will gets the his, the teams, and the season's second goal to make it 2-2

And shares the joy with Ben
Ben chases down the ball

Penalty shout denied here .. keep and defender beat and will taken out ..

Thorney take advantage and make it 3-2

Harris good with his head makes sure the danger is cleared

Lucas charges to the ball ..

The final score was 6-2 but do we let that get us down? Dami says No!

See you next week Tom!

Hampton FC Club House Ransacked .. Can You Help?

Hampton FC officials are calling for help and information today after the Beaumont Way clubhouse was ransacked on Friday night. Club Secretary, Claire Gore, revealed the theft of a large TV and extensive damage to the kitchen and HCSA (Hampton Community Sports Association) room. The repair bill will run into thousands of pounds.

Claire said: "So many people have worked hard to put that room together for the football and the running clubs. If people hear anything then please email me. My address is secretary@hampton-fc.co.uk or contact the Police or Crimestoppers in confidence."

The Police can be contacted on 101 and Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Farcet 0 - 12 Hampton (Promoted)

The Whites put 12 goals past bottom side Farcet this morning and put the result of a season's effort beyond doubt. Should the Whites have lost today, the final promotion spot would have been snatched away but as it was, for one last time in this campaign, the Whites got their shooting boots on and recorded their most emphatic victory yet.

Any fear that Hampton may not come away with the promotion prize today were quickly allayed. Barely minutes from kick-off Bradley aimed a low curling left foot effort round a crowd of players and the keeper for the first. Then Cameron struck gold with a trademark drive moments later before Dami made it three with a classy finish. William grabbed two and Bradley one more to make it 6-0 at half-time.

The second half bought no rest-bite for the honest Farcet defence. Not necessarily in this order but Cameron got his second, Dylan found the net, Thomas smashed in a brilliant effort and Dami and William both completed their hat-tricks to complete the rout. A fine performance to cap a fine season.

At the full-time whistle, Coach Glen and his squad of smiling boys enjoyed their moment of sporting achievement in the Fenland sunshine. After more than 1,100 minutes of action, the Whites had achieved (if the Goldstraw grapevine is to be believed) the honour of being the first side to gain promotion in their maiden season. The boys scored an incredible 98 goals in the league (more than anyone else), at an average of 4.5 per game. That would not have been possible without the battling midfield that so regularly translated defensive action into attacking opportunity. The defenders and keeper Lucas, so often put under pressure this year, kept an impressive eight clean sheets.

Coach Glen said: " Second place for the season is really good. All the boys have trained hard and worked hard as a team to get the results they got, losing just a few games has also helped to get everyone working as a team and after today we are just looking forward to next season with ambition."

Within seconds of kick off - Bradley put the home side under pressure!
